Sony PlayStation is on a mission to turn users away with decisions like ending physical media, mandatory PSN account linking on PC, revoking paid digital media, and closing legacy storefronts, and more recently severing ties with legendary creator Hideo Kojima. But MOZA Racing is unfazed by all this, choosing to debut its first officially licensed racing wheels for PlayStation 5 consoles.
It kind of makes sense, IMHO. After all, Gran Turismo remains the undisputed gold standard for driving simulators. At Tokyo Game Show 2026, MOZA Racing debuted three products designed to bring its direct-drive force-feedback technology to PS5 consoles. There’s the MOZA R5S Pro Racing Simulator, R16S Ultra Racing Simulator, and R16S Ultra Direct Drive Wheel Base.
The R5S Pro is the gateway package. It bundles a direct-drive wheel base, steering wheel, and pedals into one complete setup, saving newcomers from assembling a racing rig component by component and discovering halfway through that they forgot something important, like pedals. However, for gamers who prefer to work their left foot, a.k.a. clutch enthusiasts, they will still need to pick up an add-on pedal.
For more serious virtual racers, there’s the R16S Ultra Racing Simulator. It pairs the more powerful R16S direct-drive wheel base with a steering wheel, delivering stronger and more detailed force feedback. In other words, when your car loses grip, the wheel will personally inform your wrists of the situation.
The R16S Ultra Direct Drive Wheel Base is sold as a standalone unit for racers who prefer to choose their own compatible MOZA steering wheel and build around it. This should also appeal to existing MOZA users who have already accumulated enough sim-racing hardware to make their homes resemble a poorly funded motorsport facility.
More importantly, MOZA is collaborating with Polyphony Digital to provide native support for Gran Turismo 7. The new hardware will also support a growing selection of other compatible racing titles at launch.
The products are pending final product approval from Sony Interactive Entertainment, so pricing, availability, or an official launch date are to be announced. For now, PlayStation racers can start preparing the necessary space, money, and excuses for why a full racing cockpit has appeared in the living room.
