every time the Swoosh folks turn up a pair of Air Force 1, we get swept away. though we have to admit that we can’t buy it all – else, we would be falling into our female counterparts’ age-old habit. nevertheless, that doesn’t stop us from appreciating a good pair of kicks from the world famous sneaker maker. the latest AF1 joining the celebratory mood is this pair i-can’t-take-my-eyes-off Nike Air Force 1 ‘Year of the Dragon’ Fall Edition. available from September 28, this pair of sneakers combine two elements that are key to Chinese folklore and beliefs: dragon as symbol for nobility, prosperity and longevity, and pearl for health and wealth. no, it does not have real or faux pearl on it but does have pearl finish though. the shoes feature subtle dragon-scale pattern embossed on the white upper leather and midsole, a pearl-finished pink-and-blue ribbon around the Swoosh branding, rim of the tongue, the counter, as well as the bar bearing the XXX. a dragon-in-cloud design adorn the tongue top while an old Chinese character of ‘Long’ (Chinese for dragon) on the counter (back of the shoes). a silk lining completes the oriental mythical look. click through for a few more look.
