Following the EVA-01 Diver’s Watch we featured previously, RADIO EVA and Seiko have revealed their second collaboration, this time dedicated to Evangelion Unit-02. The new RADIO EVA × Seiko EVA-02 Diver’s Watch retains the first model’s mechanical movement and substantial case, but replaces the Unit-01 details with a dial inspired by Unit-02. Production increases from 300 to 400 pieces.
Unit-02’s head takes the 12 o’clock position, while green accents at 2, 4, 8, and 10 o’clock reference its eyes. The honeycomb-patterned dial returns, along with what remains my favourite feature: a custom-shaped crimson Spear of Longinus seconds hand. It is a small detail, but one that makes the Evangelion connection immediately recognisable without covering the dial in logos. The official announcement offers a closer look at those design touches.
Like the first watch, the EVA-02 model uses a black-plated stainless steel case measuring 45 mm across, 49.1 mm lug-to-lug, and 14.1 mm thick. It comes paired with a 22 mm silicone strap and weighs approximately 120 grams (4.2 ounces). Hardlex protects the dial, while Lumibrite on the hands and indices helps with reading the time in low light.
Inside is Seiko’s automatic Calibre 4R36, which also supports hand-winding and offers approximately 41 hours of power reserve when fully wound. Day and date displays round out the everyday functions. The specifications include 200-metre (656-foot) diving water resistance, JIS Class 1 magnetic resistance, and a three-year warranty.
In other words, the main change here is the EVA unit represented, rather than an overhaul of the watch itself. If the first collaboration appealed to you but Unit-02 was the one you wanted, this is the follow-up to check out.
The RADIO EVA × Seiko EVA-02 Diver’s Watch is available to pre-order for 132,000 yen [JP] including Japanese tax (~US$850). While the press release describes it as on sale, the official store specifies delivery in late December 2026.
