You probably think of smart rings and smartwatches when you think of wearable tech. Well, here’s a wearable tech that covers a little more than your wrist—say, your entire upper body. Folks, meet the Nike Therma-FIT Air Milano Jacket, a futuristic piece of outerwear that might just make your down puffer feel like a rotary phone.

Nike calls it the brand’s most technically engineered garment of its kind, powered by A.I.R. (Adapt. Inflate. Regulate.) Technology and built on nearly 50 years of Air innovation. That’s right. Nike took the same Air tech that’s been under your feet since the ’70s and decided your torso deserved some, too.
At its core, the Air Milano is a shapeshifter. Using Nike’s new adaptive Air system, the jacket lets wearers inflate or deflate internal air baffles to fine-tune warmth on demand—think of it as a cross between a hoodie and a mid-weight puffer that obeys your every whim. It’s made from a two-layer composite laminate that’s soft yet durable, so you can go from the slopes to the subway without looking like you just escaped a NASA test chamber.
The Air Milano’s debut isn’t subtle either. Team USA athletes will sport it this winter in Milan as their official medal ceremony jacket. Each one features sculpted Air panels, metallic twill branding, a custom ACG pump, and an interior lining depicting Colorado Springs’ Garden of the Gods. Even the zipper gets the innovation treatment—it’s magnetic for accessibility.
After 380 hours of field testing in Colorado, from hiking to snowboarding, Nike calls it “a living innovation.” Translation: this jacket breathes, flexes, and warms like it’s alive.
No word yet on pricing, but one thing’s certain: the Nike Therma-FIT Air Milano Jacket is the warmest proof yet that Nike Air has finally made its way from sneakers to outer space.
