for consumers, the quest for the next best camera never cease and thankfully, we are never lack of options as imaging companies have been working real hard in turning out new cameras as frequently as phone maker are churning out smartphones. the latest to join the endless slew of compact digital cameras is the Nikon 1 J2, the successor to the, you guess it, the Nikon 1 J1. no surprises, huh? aesthetically, the J2 looks pretty much like its predecessor, carrying over much, if not all, of the design to this new kid on the block. specification-wise, the J2 features a CX-format 10.1-megapixel CMOS sensor, EXPEED 3 image processor, an advanced hybrid AF system, full HD 1080p video recording (30p and 60i), built-in stereo mic with sensitivity adjustment, a 3.0-inch TFT LCD display, HDMI output, and support for interchangeable lenses – just to name a few. along with the 1 J2, Nikon also announced a new CX-format compatible 1 NIKKOR 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6 2.5x standard zoom lens, and a Waterproof Case (WP-N1) for use with the 1 J1 and 1 J2. the J2 is available in six colors, and comes with a price tag of $549.95 (with 10-30mm lens). as for the 1 NIKKOR 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6 2.5x standard zoom lens, it will carry a sticker of $189.95, while the Waterproof Case will set you back at $749.95 a pop. coming to you this September. check out some product imageries after the break.
