Nintendo is not exactly doing very well in the game console race and that already unfavorable numbers are further being threatened by the raise of mobile and cloud gaming, which is why it makes perfect marketing sense to bundle their Deluxe Set with the two biggest names in video games: Mario and his brother, Luigi. i don’t know whether it is a good or bad thing that Mario is synonymous with Nintendo and vice versa, but it is true that (in the past) kids like us did associate Nintendo machine with the plumber hero (actually Luigi was not quite in the picture) and all we remembered was a little mustache guy in coverall and lots of spotted mushrooms. actually, not entirely true. we also remember Nintendo by Crash Bandicoot.
anyway, with this fresh bundle, Nintendo might have a shot at stirring the fancy of gamers and hopefully pushes the sales up of the Wii U units by few notches. the black 32GB console, aptly named Nintendo Wii U Mario & Luigi Deluxe Set, is slated to hit the stores on November 1 and for $299.99, it will come bundled with the two games, New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U, all in one disc. this newly announced Deluxe Set (basically, a bundle set) will replace the current Wii U Deluxe Set that comes with Nintendo Land. fans of the Land can still acquire the game in stores and as digital download from Nintendo eShop for $29.99, starting from November 1.
