Fiction has a funny habit of refusing to stay fictional. Hollywood has been turning on-screen gadgets, cars, and watches into real products for decades. More recently, video games have begun following suit. Earlier this year, Hamilton turned the watch from Death Stranding 2 into a real timepiece. Now, OMEGA is doing the same with the Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph 007 First Light, a luxury watch that appeared in the new James Bond video game, 007 First Light.
Created in collaboration with IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios, the watch is more than just a tie-in. It is the very same timepiece worn by the game’s young James Bond as he works his way toward earning his 00 status. Sadly, the real-world version doesn’t come with the hacking device or laser-equipped strap that make life so much easier in-game. You’ll have to rely on your charm—and perhaps a screwdriver—instead.
The 44 mm stainless steel chronograph marks another first, too. It is the first Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph to join OMEGA’s James Bond collection, mirroring the version found in the game where the chronograph subdials actually serve gameplay functions. It features a polished black ceramic bezel with a white enamel diving scale, a laser-engraved black ceramic wave dial, PVD bronze gold accents on the three o’clock subdial ring and central chronograph seconds hand, rhodium-plated hands and indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova, plus the familiar red Seamaster logo and a date window at six o’clock.
Power comes courtesy of OMEGA’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9900, visible through a sapphire crystal caseback decorated with the 007 First Light logo. Around the wrist is a new NATO strap inspired by the game’s visual identity, featuring a black, grey, and beige color scheme reminiscent of Bond’s No Time to Die watch, complete with exclusive 007 and First Light engravings. If that isn’t your style, OMEGA also offers six additional NATO straps inspired by the different strap options available in the game.
The OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph 007 First Light comes packaged in a special suitcase-style presentation box modeled after the one used in the game. It is available now for US$9,400, though you won’t be checking out with one online because OMEGA currently lists it as available through boutiques only.
