The OnePlus Ace 6 series has just been given a longer lease on life. The original model was launched last year, and before long, it was joined by the Ace 6T. Just when we thought OnePlus was ready for the Ace 7, the company dropped the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultimate Edition in China in April.
Also known as the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra outside the literal translation of its Chinese name, the new model is positioned as a shooter-focused gaming flagship. OnePlus calls it a “Gun God” phone, which sounds dramatic until you discover that the company also launched a dedicated controller that turns it into a handheld gaming device. This accessory is just about the coolest smartphone game controller we have seen.
Performance comes from the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, built on a third-generation 3 nm process with an all-big-core CPU architecture reaching 4.21 GHz. It is accompanied by OnePlus’ chip-level WindChaser Gaming Kernel and what the company calls its new-generation “gaming triple-chip” setup.
That trio includes a dedicated display chip, a Lingxi touch-control chip, and the G2 Pro gaming network chip. The latter prioritizes Wi-Fi and cellular traffic while offering two years of complimentary access to OnePlus’ gaming cloud network. The phone supports 12 or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and between 256 GB and 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Supported shooters can run at up to 165 FPS, with Arena Breakout: Infinite and League of Legends: Wild Rift among the games receiving high-frame-rate modes. The phone is also certified for Peacekeeper Elite competitions and selected Douyin gaming events, giving it more esports credentials than most people have professional qualifications.
The Lingxi touch chip provides a maximum instantaneous sampling rate of 4,000 Hz and ten-finger sampling at 480 Hz. A 500 Hz gaming gyroscope is claimed to improve aiming and recoil control accuracy by 62%, while reducing reset error by 48%. The phone may not improve your tactical judgment, but at least missing the target should no longer be blamed on the gyroscope.
Front the the Ace 6 Ultra [CH] is a flat 6.78-inch BOE AMOLED display with a 2,772 x 1,272 resolution, a 165 Hz refresh rate, and a GTG response time as low as 0.1 ms. It covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and reaches a claimed 3,600 nits at 25% APL. There is also 3,840 Hz PWM dimming, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, glove operation, and improved wet-touch support.
All that gaming hardware feeds on an enormous 8,600 mAh Glacier Battery. OnePlus claims it can sustain 7.4 hours of continuous 165 FPS shooter gameplay, 13.6 hours of navigation, or 21.7 hours of reading. The 120 W wired charging system can reach 53% in 20 minutes and 100% in 49 minutes under laboratory conditions.
Global bypass charging powers the phone directly during gameplay, reducing heat and battery wear. An OPPO-developed Glacier Battery Energy-Gathering Chip independently manages power delivery and helps maintain performance as the battery level falls. Evidently, even the battery now has middle management.
Heat is handled by a redesigned Glacier cooling system with a larger vapor chamber and 2K supercritical graphite. OnePlus says the internal vapor-cooling space has increased by 29%, while the aerospace-grade aluminum frame helps draw heat away from the areas held during play.
For more traditional controls, the separately sold OnePlus Gunmaster Gaming Controller clamps around the phone and adds four programmable physical buttons, a 1,000 Hz polling rate, 0.7 mm key travel, and a claimed 1.8 ms response time. It also contains an additional gaming antenna and supports an optional magnetic cooling fan.
The controller preserves touchscreen input, so players can combine touch controls with the physical buttons rather than surrendering the entire screen to virtual controls. It weighs 150 g (5.3 oz) and includes a bottom-mounted USB-C port for charging or connecting earphones while playing. Your phone has now become a handheld console, albeit one assembled through optional accessories.
Away from gaming, the Ace 6 Ultimate Edition has a 50 MP, 1/1.55-inch main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS, joined by an 8 MP ultrawide camera. A 16 MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. It is not a camera-first flagship, but OnePlus has included OPPO imaging algorithms, motion capture, Live Photos, and AI-assisted editing features.
Other equipment includes symmetrical stereo speakers, an X-axis linear vibration motor, NFC, an infrared transmitter, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and ColorOS 16 based on Android 16.
The metal-framed phone carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for protection against dust, immersion, pressurized water, and high-temperature water jets. It measures 162.45 x 77.47 x 8.45 mm (6.40 x 3.05 x 0.33 in) and weighs between 217 and 219 g (7.65 and 7.72 oz), depending on the finish.
Speaking of finishes, it comes in Ace Awakening and Metal Storm. Ace Awakening uses Crystal Shield Glass on both the screen and rear, while Metal Storm reserves it for the display.
The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultimate Edition was unveiled in China on April 28, 2026, with prices starting at 3,999 yuan [CH] (about US$593) for the 12 GB/256 GB model. International availability has not been announced.
