If you have been waiting out for the flagship of flagships from Oppo, well, the good news is, it has just been launched in China. Joining the Oppo Find X8 series is the range-topping Oppo Find X8 Ultra. Setting a new benchmark in the ultra-premium category, the new Ultra packs cutting-edge features wrapped in a sleek package. Kicking off the feature list is a flat 6.82-inch (17.32 cm) 2K AMOLED LTPO display with Dolby Vision support, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits.
Under the hood, the new Find X8 Ultra [CH] flexes hard with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Elite” chip, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a whopping 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage. It’s also the first Oppo device to launch with ColorOS 15 based on Android 15. And despite all this firepower, it keeps a relatively slim figure under 9 mm thick and weighs 226 grams (7.97 oz). There’s even a customizable shortcut button and a physical camera shutter button, because subtle flexes matter.
Speaking of cameras, Oppo went full-on overkill with a penta-camera setup. You’re looking at a 50 MP Sony LYT-900 main shooter with OIS, 50 MP ultrawide, 50 MP telephoto with 3x zoom, 50 MP periscope with 6x zoom, and a 2 MP spectral sensor—all co-developed with Hasselblad. Oh, and it records 4K 60fps Dolby Vision HDR across all focal lengths. Y’know, for the one time you need to film a cinematic masterpiece on a mountain top.
Keeping it all alive is a massive 6,100 mAh battery with 100W wired charging, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging. Oppo says it fully juices up in 35 minutes. And for those who like to test fate, it has IP68 and IP69 ratings and SGS Five-Star drop resistance, so go ahead, live dangerously.
Available in two models—one with satellite comms (16 GB + 1 TB) and a regular version (12 GB + 256 GB or 16 GB + 512 GB)—it starts at 6,499 yuan [CH] (around USD 897). It also comes in three colors, all of which looks pretty damn classy. I may be biased here because I am a huge sucker for flat display with straight-edge devices. Any colors look great, I mean classy, on such a design.
