Oppo Reno has come a long way. Since the birth of the first model in 2019 with the innovative pivoting “shark fin” selfie camera, it is now on its 14th model. Speaking of the Oppo Reno series… interestingly, it does have a Reno14 before this newly revealed Reno15. And here we are thinking that the smartphone maker has a beef with the number “4”.

Anyhoo, for those not in the know, the Reno is a mid- to high-end smartphone model with a modest price tag. It is no doubt targeted at the youthful, fairer sex. The latest iteration is even smaller and aesthetically more elegant and youthful, but with the unmistakable iPhone vibe.
Under the hood, performance is guaranteed by a 4 nm MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chip, featuring an octa-core processor with clock speed topping out at 3.25 GHz. This chip sits between MediaTek’s flagship 94xx series and its mid-range chips. It is bolstered by one of the fastest memories in the market, LPDDR5X. However, it does not have the fastest storage. It is still on the last gen, UFS 3.1.
The new Reno [CH] is even smaller than its predecessor. It is about the size of the iPhone 17, with its 6.32-inch FHD+ (2,640 × 1,216 pixels) 120 Hz display, and physical dimensions of 151.21 mm tall, 72.42 mm wide, and 7.99 mm thick (8.13 mm for the laser blue model). It tips the scales at 187–188 g.

In the imaging department, it boasts a tri-camera setup featuring a 200 MP wide-angle camera with AF and OIS, a 50 MP 116° ultra-wide camera with AF, and a 50 MP telephoto camera with AF and OIS. Over at the front, it has a hole-punch 50 MP camera with AF. Both rear and front cameras support HEIF (High Efficiency Image File).
One of the key selling points is the “you don’t know it, but it is super tough” build. It touts 360° drop resistance and is IP69 rated. The device also rocks a so-called nano ice crystal heat dissipation system and Oppo’s self-developed dedicated Wi-Fi “speed-up” chip. Other notables include an under-display fingerprint sensor, facial recognition, dual nano-SIM, Wi-Fi 6, 5 GHz 160 MHz support, Bluetooth 5.4, BLE audio, BTLE, NFC, the usual positioning (including A-GNSS), various sensors, and a 6,200 mAh battery that supports 80 W super-fast charging and various fast-charging protocols.
There is, of course, a Pro model [CH]. The Pro model is everything the standard Reno15 is, but larger. This means a larger display (120 Hz, 6.78-inch, 2,772 × 1,272 pixels), a larger battery (6,500 mAh), and a physically larger body measuring 161.26 mm tall, 76.46 mm wide, 7.65–7.75 mm thick, and weighing 205 g.
The Oppo Reno15 Series has been launched in China with a starting price of 2,999 yuan [CH] for the standard Reno15 and 3,699 yuan [CH] for the Reno15 Pro.
