Joining the Playmobil line of movie/TV show toy cars that already include the likes of Knight Rider K.I.T.T., The A Team Van, Back to the Future DeLorean, and more is the Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole from 80s crime drama Magnum, p.i. Not going to lie. This is quite unexpected.
Then again, the red Italian sports car was the daily driver of the show’s protagonist which was also a star in its own right, sharing even a space on promo posters and so, it is kind of worthy. Plus, it is a freaking Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole! Anyhoo, for those who don’t know, Magnum, p.i., which was super huge in the 80s, practically launched Tom Selleck’s career.
The Playmobil Magnum, p.i. Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole may be a toy car but the scale, proportion, and details it has sure make it more like a scale model than a kid’s plaything.
It measures 9.8 inches long, 4.3 inches wide, and 2.5 inches tall (about 25 x 11 x 6 cm), and boasts a bunch of details including pop-up headlights, an opening hood in the rear, a removable roof, and a detailed interior with space for 2 Playmobil figures.
Speaking Playmobil figures, the Playmobil Magnum, p.i. Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole is supplied with four main characters from the series, namely, the man himself Thomas Magnum – complete with his signature mustache, Terry “TC” Calvin, Rick Wright, and Jonathan Higgins.
It also includes a few accessories, including a palm tree, a parrot perch, a pair of binoculars with a strap, a camera with a strap, a walkie-talkie, 2 caps, a wristwatch, and a pair of arm cuffs.
