Actually, there’s probably nothing much to sell about the newly announced Polaroid Snap Instant Digital Camera, except that it is new, a tad sleeker and cost just 99 bucks when it lands in stores in Q4 this year. Sporting the iconic Polaroid Color Spectrum design on a choice of background color, it snaps 10MP stills, saves it to a microSD card (supports up to 32GB) and of course, instantly print them in full color as you shoot – just like what a instant digital camera does. It makes 2 x 3 inches prints, printed using ZINK Zero Ink Printing Technology as used in many of Polaroid’s other products including portable printers and well, instant digital cameras.
Each print takes under a minute and while it is printing, you can keep on shooting, so no time will be wasted. In addition, you can add enhancements to your masterpiece, but it have to be done prior to each shot since the image will be printed instantly. And finally, there’s the modern day must-have self-timer that will allows selfie-obsessed to capture the “perfect instant selfie.”
And oh, there’s no fancy LCD; shot composure is through the good’ol pop-up viewfinder found on the top of the device and obviously, it ain’t going to do video too. Well, that’s about sums up Snap’s features. If you in and around Berlin, you can pop by Polaroid booth at IFA 2015 (Hall 3.2, booth #218) to check it out in person.
