Already, the Hyundai i30 N Performance has plenty of ponies to offer. With 272 HP and 353 Nm (260 lb-ft) of torque, it is a performance hatch out-of-the-factory, but for those with an insatiable appetite for more horses, RaceChip may just have want you are after. The company recently had a Hyundai i30 N Performance show car equipped with the top-of-the-line tuning chip, RaceChip GTS Black, that squeezes 38 horsepower and 145 Nm (110 lb-ft) of torque out of the 2.0 T-GDI engine, bringing the output to 313 HP and the torque to 498 Nm (367 lb-ft).
That’s quite a significant amount of horsepower boost there. As far as this showcar is concerned, that’s not it. It is also outfitted with HJS down pipe that further boosted the output to an impressive 320 HP and 524 Nm (386 lb-ft). Perhaps more importantly is, you get the power you desire throughout the entire RPM range, along with the requisite angry growl from the motor (thanks in part to the HJS down pipe), the responsiveness and improved acceleration.
Consummating the upgraded performance are a set of lightweight OZ Leggera HLT alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubbers, and 15 mm Eibach performance springs and an anti-roll kit that worked to address the handling department. Finishing touch is by the way of a subtle wrap with fancy details from Schwabendolia. In case you are interested, the chip is available for a variety of makes and models, price at €129 (around US$147) and up. The RaceChip GTS Black found on the showcar has a starting price of €449 (or about US$511).
