The celebration of 30 years of Evangelion continues, this time with a Seiko diver’s watch getting the EVA-01 makeover. The official Evangelion project, RADIO EVA, has revealed a limited collaboration model with veteran Japanese watchmaker Seiko. This is not the first Evangelion-themed watch, but this one looks like it is right at home at a black-tie event, as it is among the reefs.

The RADIO EVA “THE 30” x Seiko Collaboration Watch may not be as loud as the G-Shock GA-110EVA30-7AJR, or as aggressively purple as the Welly Merck or Motor-R pieces, but its association with Test Type-01 is unmistakable. It is pronounced in a way that is not loud, and yet somehow feels more Evangelion than any EVA-themed watch that came before it.
This collaboration is part of RADIO EVA’s ongoing “THE 30” project, which celebrates three decades of Neon Genesis Evangelion with 30 collaborations across fashion, food, and lifestyle. For this entry, RADIO EVA taps Seiko’s long-running diver lineage, a line that traces its roots back to 1965 and helped define modern dive watch standards. In other words, this is not just anime painted on a watch. There is proper horological weight behind it.
The stainless steel case comes in at a substantial 45.0 mm wide, 49.1 mm tall, and 14.1 mm thick, finished in a black-coated treatment that sets the stage for the EVA-01 green and purple two-tone color scheme. The dial is where the Evangelion cues quietly stack up. At 12 o’clock sits the face of EVA-01 itself, flanked by subtle armor-inspired details at the 2 and 10 o’clock positions. A honeycomb pattern runs across the dial, tying the design back to the Evangelion universe without turning the watch into a novelty prop.

The star of the show, though, is the second hand. RADIO EVA and Seiko shaped it into the Spear of Longinus, rendered in deep crimson. Watching it sweep across the dial is dramatic in a way only Evangelion fans will fully appreciate. Rounding up the EVA touches is another face of EVA-01 on the crown, and on the case back, a RADIO EVA branding.
Powering the watch is Seiko’s automatic 4R36 movement with hand-winding support, hacking seconds, and a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. It features a day and date display, Lumibrite on the hands and indices, and a 200-meter dive rating. The silicone strap keeps it wearable for daily use, whether that day involves water or not.
Limited to just 300 pieces, the RADIO EVA “THE 30” x Seiko EVA-01 collaboration watch goes on sale December 12, 2025.
