Redmi Note 14 Pro+ Smartphone

Oh, wait. Did we not tell you about the Redmi Note 14 5G, and the Redmi Note 14 Pro? Our bad but that does not matter because there’s a big brother in the house, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ [CH]. It shares the same design language as the non-plus model and has an impressively low starting price of just 1,899 yuan, which is around 271 USD today.

It may be a budget phone, but the spec sheet isn’t shabby at all. For starters, it has got Redmi’s “King Kong” architecture that offers a new level of drop resistance (capable of sustaining a drop from 1.8 meters or 5.9 feet). It is not just the drop resistance that is on a new level. The device is not only IP68 rated for dust and waterproof; It has passed the TÜV SÜD 2-meter (6.6 feet) 24-hour waterproof test, taking waterproofness on a smartphone to a whole new level.

Design-wise, the new Redmi Note 14 Pro+ rocks a flagship hyperbolic aesthetic that promises a comfortable, ergonomic, and premium feel. For those who aren’t aware, “hyperbolic” means both sides are rocking curved edges. Both sides are protected by Corning Gorilla glasses.

And then there’s the 6,200 mAh Xiaomi ‘jinshajiang’ battery that promised 4 years of life, and it gets the TÜV SÜD stamp of approval for battery longevity. The battery supports 90 W wired fast charging and supports PD standard quick charging. Also under the hood is Qualcomm’s new mid-range chip, the 4 nm process Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 featuring low power consumption AI experience chip.

The speedy SoC is backed by 12 or 16 GB LPDDR4X/LPDDR5 memory and 256 or 512 GB UFS 2.2/UFS 3.1 flash storage. Fronting the device is an all-new 1.5K high-brightness eye-care display. It is 6.67” with an astonishing contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 and peak local brightness of a whopping 3,000 nits. It is, of course, a 120 Hz display and boasts a touch sampling rate as high as 480 Hz. The display further rocks 1920 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, 12bit colors, DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and more.
