Renault Scénic and Grand Scénic Black Edition

Renault has announced a new Scénic and Grand Scénic Black Edition based on the INTENS finish. The limited edition Scénic promised “advanced comfort, refinement and sporting performance.” It is available across a range of engines, petrol and diesel, and matted to a choice of manual or EDC dual-clutch automatic transmission.

On the outside, the 20-inch Silverstone wheels now sport a black gloss finish while the headlights are treated to black mask. In addition, the Black Edition will come with front LED fog lights as standard. Finally, it will get its due “Black Edition” badging, just so everyone know this ain’t your everyday Scénic… if that makes any sense.

Inside the cabin, it features Alcantara upholstery, silver gray top-stitching, a black headliner, an aluminum pedal assembly and footrest, and protective mats. Other details include comfort head restraints front and rear, heated front seats, panoramic sunroof and blind, and a color head-up display. Well, those sure sounds like mere cosmetic tweaks.

As with regular Scénic, it will be offered with options like Lane Keeping Assist, Bose Sound System, Easy Park Assist, 20-inc Quartz diamond-cut alloy wheels, Adaptive Cruise Control and choice of 7-seat configuration.

If you like the small number of non-performance tweaks and don’t mind shelling out €1,800 (US$2,006) more over the INTENS finish, the Renault Scénic and Grand Scénic Black Edition may be the ride for you. Prices start at €33,100 (around US$36,885) for Scénic and €33,700 (about US$37,554) for Grand Scénic.
