Previously announced as a part of the Ricoh GR IIIx Urban Edition Special Limited Kit, the Ricoh GR IIIx Urban Edition can now be purchased on its own for those who just want the camera.

The camera will be available later this month (July) from and Ricoh Imaging authorized retail outlets. Pricing has not been announced.

To recap, the Ricoh GR IIIx Urban Edition is differentiated, aesthetically, by a navy-blue ring against a metallic gray camera body that was treated to a multi-coat process.

The result is a distinctive appearance and smooth texture. The coating also helps in getting a firm grip on the camera.

Beyond the cosmetics, the specifications are pretty much identical to those of the standard GR IIIx model.

There were some functions announced for the Limited Edition Kit. But here’s the thing. Those functions, like the Snap Distance Priority mode, and Snapshot mode, for example, are actually also available for the standard GR IIIx model with the installation of function expansion firmware. So, you really getting the cosmetics, IMHO.

Anywho, if you are so inclined, you may learn more about the Ricoh GR IIIx Urban Edition HERE.
