Samsung T7 Touch Portable Solid State Drive

How many people actually secured their portable hard drives with encryption? Not many I supposed. Truth be told, encryption is a hassle (OK, I admit, I am lazy AF). However, with the new Samsung T7 Touch Portable Solid State Drive (SSD), securing your portable SSD is quite literally a finger touch away.

That’s right. This portable SSD has got a built-in fingerprint scanner. Even better, up to 4 fingerprints can be registered to facilitate collaboration between multiple users. How neat is that? I’d say it is pretty damn awesome.

Beyond the sleek, minimalist look of Samsung’s latest portable SSD solution is a storage solution is an NVMe interface that offers read and write speeds of 1,050 MB/s and 1,000 MB/s, respectively. In addition to having a built-in fingerprint, there’s also pass protection, as well as AES 256-bit hardware encryption.

Furthermore, its solid aluminum casing is not only extremely lightweight (58g or 2.05 oz.) is drop resistant up to a height of 2 meters (6.6 meters), which should give you peace of mind when traveling with this little guy.

Samsung T7 Touch Portable Solid State Drive comes in 500 GB, 1- and 2 TB capacities, and each drive is outfitted with USB 3.2 with USB-C interface. It will be available starting this month (January) in over 30 countries.
