The WH-1000XM4C keeps the familiar over-ear design, foldable construction, and premium sound that helped make the original such a hit. In other words, Sony is giving you a chance to buy what you missed—or were financially incapable of buying six years ago.
So, what are the changes? Well, Sony says the sound tuning has been updated to better suit current listening tastes. And then there is also a 10-band equalizer for anyone who desires to customize the sound.

The WH-1000XM4C comes in Black, Platinum Silver, and a new Lavender finish. The last one should appeal to listeners who want serious noise cancellation without looking like they are reporting for duty aboard a stealth bomber.
