Sony’s revived WH-1000XM4C may be hogging the spotlight, but it is not the only new pair of cans from the Japanese electronics giant. Joining it are the updated WH-CH730N and WH-CH530, covering the mid-range and entry-level ends of Sony’s increasingly crowded headphone family.
The WH-CH730N is the more serious of the two. It offers Dual Noise Sensor-powered noise cancellation, a new lightweight and foldable design, and up to 50 hours of battery life with ANC switched on. A three-minute charge provides another hour of listening, useful when you discover the battery warning approximately four minutes before leaving home.
Call quality has also been improved through beamforming microphones, optimized microphone placement, and AI-powered noise reduction. Multipoint connectivity, LE Audio, Fast Pair, and Swift Pair round out the practical stuff. Color choices include Black, White, Pink, Blue, and the newly added Beige.
If noise cancellation is not a priority, the on-ear WH-CH530 offers up to 55 hours of playback, with three minutes of charging delivering another 1.5 hours. It also features customizable EQ, AI noise reduction for calls, and a five-step maximum-volume limiter for anyone whose playlist regularly attempts to destroy their hearing. It comes in Black, White, Pink, Cobalt, Coral, and Mint.
Then Hello Kitty enters the chat. Sony is preparing limited-edition collaboration bundles featuring selected models, including the WH-1000XM6, WH-CH730N, and WH-CH530. Each bundle includes an exclusive carrying pouch and tote bag with subtle Hello Kitty-inspired details.
The WH-CH730N and WH-CH530 are available as we speak for US$179.99 and US$69.99, respectively. Availability details for the Sony x Hello Kitty collection will be announced later.
