You may not be surprised to see Bamford Watch Department and TAG Heuer join forces. But what you may not anticipate is a three-way collaboration involving the Swiss luxury watch brand and Team Ikuzawa, the name synonymous with motorsports, and extraordinaire customizer George Bamford of the legendary Bamford Watch Department.
Team Ikuzawa’s vision of a timepiece here is expressed by the bold and artistic vision of Mai Ikuzawa who’s carrying the torch of the illustrious Ikuzawa legacy. Not going to lie. It was love at first sight when I first saw the TAG Heuer Carrera x Team Ikuzawa by Bamford.
Anyhoo, the TAG Heuer x Team Ikuzawa collaboration introduces a stunning racing watch in red and white, paying tribute to Team Ikuzawa’s heritage. The watch boasts a white opaline dial with a bold red 60-second/minute scale, alongside eye-catching white and red chronograph counters at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock. Its rhodium-plated indexes and hands are decked out with white Super-LumiNova and red lacquer, giving off a sporty yet classy vibe.
Housed in a sleek 42mm brushed and polished steel case, this limited-edition timepiece, powered by the Heuer 02 movement, doesn’t just look good; it’s built to last and can handle depths of up to 100 meters. To top it off, you get a steel three-row bracelet with a foldable clasp and an extra white fabric strap with the “Team Ikuzawa” logo. Each watch proudly displays its unique edition number on the steel screw-down sapphire case back.
Limited to just 100 pieces, these watches are extra special, with numbers one and 100 reserved for Tetsu and Mai Ikuzawa.
The packaging, created in collaboration with TAG Heuer and Team Ikuzawa, features a vibrant white and red design and even includes a miniature Porsche—a nod to Tetsu’s racing glory at the 1967 Japanese Grand Prix. This remarkable timepiece beautifully blends racing, culture, and Swiss watchmaking excellence, celebrating the spirit of passion, innovation, and meaningful connections.
Unfortunately, the US$6,300 TAG Heuer Carrera x Team Ikuzawa by Bamford appears to be out of stock online according to the product page. However, not all hopes are lost. You may have a shot at finding one in-store. ‘May’ is the keyword here.
