TECNO MWC 2026 concept devices including POVA ecosystem accessories, AI EINK phone, Slim 2 concept, POVA Neon lighting phone and PHANTOM Ultimate G Fold tri-fold smartphone
From a tri-fold smartphone concept to an AI-powered E Ink device, TECNO’s MWC 2026 showcase hints at where its future hardware ambitions may be headed.

TECNO showed up at Mobile World Congress 2026 last week with a table full of concepts, and not the “one prototype under glass” kind either. The Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology concept we saw earlier is part of an entire playground of ideas, which also includes AI processing experiments, glowing phones, and foldables that fold more times than your laundry.

One of the more grounded ideas is the POVA Ecosystem, built around the gaming-focused POVA line. At the center is POVA Metal, a full-metal unibody 5G phone powered by a Snapdragon platform. It pairs with the POVA Controller Slide, a gaming controller that supports targeted aiming and an adjustable viewing angle between 0 and 25 degrees. Rounding out the trio is POVA Earphones, earbuds with a dot-matrix lighting design that fits the brand’s futuristic aesthetic.

TECNO also previewed Edge-Side AIGC Preview Concept Technology, which moves generative AI directly onto the phone. Built with Arm architecture, the system compresses AI models so users can see real-time style-transfer previews at around 30 frames per second. Translation: AI creativity without waiting for the cloud to think.

Elsewhere, TECNO had some fun with design experiments. The AI EINK concept features a rear e-ink panel that can change color based on what the camera sees. TECNO Slim 2 explores ultra-thin smartphone engineering with extremely narrow display bezels, while POVA Neon turns the back of a phone into a mini light show using ionized inert gas lighting.

Beyond phones, the Concept Design Suite imagines a coordinated lineup of devices—laptop, tablet, smartwatch, earbuds, smart glasses, and power bank—built around a bold “Music in Motion” design theme. It basically mixes fashion with tech, and in a way never imagined before.

And then there’s the PHANTOM Ultimate G Fold Concept, a tri-fold smartphone with a 9.94-inch display that folds inward twice. It measures around 11.49 mm when folded and just 3.49 mm when fully opened.

Will all of these make it to market? Probably not. But as concept showcases go, TECNO definitely did not come to Barcelona empty-handed. The brand really dared to dream. You know what they say, dream and reality are not the same.
