Is a pickup truck the size of a MINI any use? Well, if you think it is—and you’re down for zero-emission hauling—then the TELO Truck might be your jam. TELO is the new kid on the (very tiny) electric truck block. It’s an all-electric mini pickup that’s literally the size of a MINI. I’m not even exaggerating. Wait. So a MINI is not so mini after all?
Launched on March 6, the brand’s first mini truck, the MT1, is a compact battery-electric pickup designed with urban environments in mind. And yes, it’s a double cab. I’m still trying to wrap my head around that too—especially when this little guy can haul objects up to 8 feet long—with the tailgate up to boot.
That is made possible through a clever mid-gate design. Fold that down and boom, instant 8 feet of cargo space. Just know you’ll be sacrificing the rear seats, so whoever is hitching a ride to the hardware store may need to find their own way home.
It’s a four-door cab that seats five full-sized adults, with the same interior space as a Toyota Tacoma. Yet somehow, it’s about the same length as a MINI Cooper SE. It even has a 60-inch bed—just like the Tacoma. That, my friends, is the “magic” of electric drive. The team behind TELO clearly worked some packaging wizardry because this little big guy is more than a cargo carrier.
It can also be transformed into a people hauler for up to eight passengers, thanks to a storage tunnel under the bed that doubles as a footwell for a third row of seats. You heard that right. Third row seats. Add a roof complete with windows, and voila, you’ve got yourself a little minivan. That is not the only cover it has; there is also a secure tonneau cover that keeps your gear safe from curious hands.
I don’t believe the drive type was disclosed. What we know is the electric drive packs 500 horses, which is put to good use on all four wheels, and it is paired to a 106 kWh battery offering up to 350 miles (560 km) range. The onboard charging system supports 250 kW fast charging allowing it to gain 210 miles (338 km) range in just 20 minutes.
Inside, it’s all function over flash. No massive screens or flashy leather—just a wide, minimal display and natural fabrics with understated patterns. The TELO MT1 starts at US$41,250, with deliveries beginning in 2026. If anyone’s down, TELO is taking pre-orders now.
