Tom Dixon Studio is back at it, proving that even something as mundane as a lamp can have star power. Enter the POSE series, a collection of lamps that channel their inner lighthouse and traffic light—because why should those icons of illumination have all the fun?
At the heart of POSE is a Fresnel lens, a bit of optical wizardry borrowed from the world of lighthouses. It transforms light into a sharp, precise beam that’s as striking as it is functional.
The lamps come in two flavors: the Task Light, perfect for serious work (or pretending to look serious), and the Portable, a pocket-sized powerhouse that’s rechargeable via a magnetic USB cable. Hold the power button, and you’ve got yourself two warm tone options to set just the right mood, whether it’s “cozy” or “bright enough to spot a speck of dust.”
The POSE series also flaunts some serious style points. Its conical shapes are sleek and minimal, while a touch of humor gives the lamps a personality you didn’t think a lamp could have. Color options range from timeless Gold and Silver to trendier shades like Indigo, Putty, and Kelp, ensuring there’s a POSE for every taste.
Launching globally on January 27, 2025, these lamps will be available online, in Tom Dixon’s London and New York stores, and select stockists. Prices? Probably more than any of IKEA’s lights. But even if it so, remember that this light is more than an illumination tool. It is ART.
