POSE+’s iteration of the iconic AFC-01H Legioss ETA is crazy sleek, but alas, the price ain’t for everyone. If you are one of the “everyone” like yours truly here, and you welcome more affordable iterations, Takara Tomy has something to offer you. Enter the Toyrise (stylized as TOYR!SE) Mospeada Another Genesis AFC-01X Ω.
Clearly, not as stylized as POSE+’s, but it has everything that needs to be—including a posable pilot, complete in his CVR-3 Riding Suit and the Armor Bike. This Toyrise version is a new mecha design created in collaboration with MOSPEADA mecha designer Shinji Aramaki and Tatsunoko Productions.
The story goes that the AFC-01X Legioss Omega [JP] (stylized as LegiossΩ) was deployed to the special test operation unit “SKUNKs,” and is based on the AFC-01H Legioss ETA, featuring a modified head and wing movement. It omits the sensor pod on the right chest. Instead, it has dual machine guns on both shoulders.
The variable fighter LegiossΩ can transform between Armo-Soldier (a.k.a. robot) Mode for ground combat, Armor-Fighter (a.k.a. fighter jet) Mode for aerial combat duties, and a hybrid configuration known as Armo-Diver Mode that can deal with both air and ground threats. The latter is basically Genesis Climber MOSPEADA’s iteration of Macross’ GERWALK.
The figure features a whopping 38 3 mm ports, allowing for optional weapons and equipment to be attached, although it barely comes with any accessories. It is supplied with the aforementioned 1/60 scale pilot, his Armor Bike, and a 50 mm beam cannon. The figure also touts high posability, though it is not clear how many points of articulation it has.
Other features include retractable landing gears in fighter jet mode, a pair of missile pods with variable placement depending on the mode, and an opening cockpit canopy. Interestingly, the cockpit unit can be detached and is compatible with other Legioss units when they become available. Speaking of the cockpit, the pilot can be placed inside the cockpit in both mecha and fighter jet modes. The AFC-01X Ω is the first of the four new Legioss fighters planned.
The new Toyrise AFC-01X Ω Legioss Omega figure is available for pre-order in Japan for 13,200 yen [JP] (about US$89)—tax included. It is slated to hit the shelves sometime in March 2026.
