Hasbro continues its slow but steady march toward Bruticus, and this time, it is bringing out the big gun. Freshly launched is the Transformers Age of the Primes Commander Class Combaticon Onslaught, the calculating leader of the Combaticons and the backbone of one of the most iconic Decepticon combiners ever assembled.

Standing 6.75 inches (17 centimeters) tall in robot mode, Commander Class Onslaught converts into an anti-aircraft truck in 44 steps. This is not a quick flip-and-click affair. It is a deliberate, satisfying conversion that feels appropriate for a character known for strategy rather than brute force. As expected, Onslaught is fully compatible with the rest of the Combaticon lineup, combining with the other members (each sold separately, subject to availability) to form Bruticus.
Onslaught comes well-equipped right out of the box. The set includes the figure itself, a trailer, and three accessories: a turret and two barrel blasters. These accessories can be attached in both robot and vehicle modes, giving the figure a properly armed presence regardless of how it is displayed. Articulation is generous, allowing for stable display poses as well as more dynamic, action-oriented stances.
As part of the Transformers Age of the Primes collection, this version of Onslaught is described as being descended from Nexus Prime, reinforcing his role as a tactical leader rather than just another heavy-hitting Decepticon. It fits the character well, both in design and execution.
Whether you are already committed to building Bruticus or simply want a substantial Commander Class figure anchoring your shelf, Combaticon Onslaught feels like a necessary piece of the puzzle rather than an optional extra.
The Transformers Age of the Primes Commander Class Combaticon Onslaught is priced at US$99.99. It is set to hit the shelves starting August 01, 2026. The pre-order on Hasbropulse.com is sold out, though. You should be able to pre-order from reputable toy retailers.
