In the process of toy product development, some prototypes never make it past the early stages for reasons. The Takara Tomy Transformers Arcee is one such toy that never made it past the prototype stage in the 80s, and it wore a very different colorway. Now, Takara Tomy has decided to transfer this prototype colorway to an existing mold, the MP-51, calling it MPG-23.

The Transformers MPG-23 Secret Agent Arcee [JP] is exactly the MP-51. It transforms into a futuristic Cybertronian sports car, and as a robot, it is fully poseable with articulated arms and legs, plus waist rotation to boot. The built-in visor that hides inside the head of the original Masterpiece collectible is also found on this figure.
Accessories include a compact handgun, a blaster, a sniper rifle, and a “crusher” that can be attached to the vehicle and used for shredding enemies’ tires—or breaking their hearts by leaving nasty scratch marks on them. Also included are a blaster holster, some effect parts, and three interchangeable faces with different expressions.
The Takara Tomy Transformers MPG-23 Secret Agent Arcee is set to drop in December 2026, priced at 19,800 yen (tax included) [JP] in Japan, which works out to around US$124. TT Mall is taking pre-orders between April 03, 2026, and May 17, 2026.
