I am sure you have read about the controversy surrounding the Assassin’s Creed Shadows video game. You know? That thing about a black Japanese samurai in feudal Japan? I have no qualms at all because to me Assassin’s Creed was dead after Creed II. Why? Well, the storytelling is a bit of a stretch after that third game. Through the years, I have paid zero attention to the franchise until now because of this controversy and also this: Assassin’s Creed Shadows Collector’s Edition.
Yes. I am a major sucker (called me Sir, Major Sucker, Sir! Ha!) for such a thing but before we get on with the goodies of the Collector’s Edition, here’s a brief on what the game is about for people who aren’t in the know:
“In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you will live the intertwined stories of Naoe, an adept shinobi Assassin from Iga Province, and Yasuke, the powerful African samurai of historical legend. Against the backdrop of the turbulent late Sengoku period, this remarkable duo will discover their common destiny as they usher in a new era for Japan.”
For fans of Assassin’s Creed who aren’t offended by this possibly politically correct move by Ubisoft, you may want to consider picking up the Collector’s Edition which has a chockful of goodies.
In addition to receiving the Ultimate Edition of the copy which offers you 3 days of early access to the game, a pre-order bonus quest (Thrown to the Dogs), a Season Pass with a bonus quest (plus 2 upcoming expansions), and Ultimate Pack with Sekiryu Character Pack, Hideout Pack, and 5 skill points as well as the Red Dragon filter in Photo Mode, you will also be getting a Naoe and Yasuke dual character statue, a Unique Steelbook case, an 84-page Collector’s art book, a life-size Naoe’s katana tsuba, a world map, a Creed wall scroll, and 2 sumi-e lithographs.
The Assassin’s Creed Shadows Collector’s Edition is available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. It appears pre-orders for the PC and Xbox versions are out of stock.
