Undone has just revealed a pair of watches to usher in the Year of the Rabbit. Continuing its yearly Chinese Zodiac and calendar-celebrating effort, The Undone Chinese Hour 2023 is inspired by a traditional Chinese timekeeping system that dates back thousands of years.
The Undone Chinese Hour 2023 is a lovely timepiece featuring Undone’s Aero case in 316L stainless steel with a bezel locking system and ultra dome LEXAN polycarbonate lens and powered by a Japanese TMI NH35A Automatic Winding Mechanism with a 42-hour power reserve.
While it has a modern bezel with timezones of major cities of the world, the dial features main indices marked in Chinese characters. The dial further features Chinese names of the major hours in the Chinese traditional timekeeping system.
The case is 40 mm in diameter and 15 mm thick with the lens, and it is water resistant to 100 meters (10 ATM). Around the back is a clear case back with an image of a traditional paper art rabbit alongside an auspicious Chinese idiom (word played to mark the Year of the Rabbit).
The Undone Chinese Hour 2023 Watch is available in two finishes: silver (SS) and rose gold (RG). The RG is especially alluring, IMHO, it has a screw-down crown in a striking red finish. Absolutely lovely.
Anyhoo, each finish has a limited run of just 88 pieces with every watch serialized and presented in a special packaging featuring a red couplets-style branding with an auspicious Chinese idiom calligraph on it.
