You don’t need a 1,000-horsepower megacar to turn heads—sometimes, all it takes is a reborn British classic wrapped in designer leather and finished in bespoke Anthracite paint. Enter the Wood and Pickett MINI by CALLUM, a modern reimagination of the cult favorite, now made official with international style icon David Gandy taking delivery of the very first one.
Built on a restored Mk5 Sportspack shell, the MINI has been completely transformed with CALLUM’s signature eye for detail. It sports unique front and rear valances, reworked sills, updated lighting, and of course, the signature Wood & Pickett arches. The custom paint, developed in-house by CALLUM, gives it a moody sheen that’s somehow both contemporary and timeless.
Inside is where things get truly opulent. The dashboard draws inspiration from the iconic Margrave design, finished in Tan Bridge of Weir leather, with bespoke seating, metal bezels, and a handcrafted ‘Piano’ switch pack that’s more luxury yacht than city car. It’s part retro throwback, part automotive couture.
But this isn’t just a pretty face. Under the hood is a 1,310cc Stage 3 engine pushing 110 BHP, paired with a reengineered gearbox and upgraded ECU. Twin-point injection, a performance cylinder head, and a custom twin-exit exhaust deliver both punch and personality. CALLUM also tuned the suspension, added 8.4” vented discs, and fitted exclusive 13” alloy wheels for a more planted, confident drive.
It’s a MINI, yes—but not as you know it. Gandy said it best: this car is about craftsmanship, individuality, and performance. Just 30 are expected to be made, each entirely tailored to the buyer’s vision.
As for the price… well, you’ll need at least £75,000 (~100,800 USD) and a strong sense of style. I like the MINI, and so do many others, but 100K for one, restomod or otherwise, is a bit much in most people’s books. Just saying…
