Bugatti is not just the name for super fast supercar nor is it merely about ridiculously expensive automobile. It is also one of the name in automobile innovations and the latest innovation is this brake caliper which Bugatti proudly proclaimed as “world’s largest titanium functional component produced by additive manufacturing.” In other words, it is here is 3-D printed.
Being a Bugatti component, this thing here is, not surprisingly, huge, boasting eight eight-piston which also makes it the world’s first brake caliper turned out by 3-D printer and the biggest brake caliper in the auto world. Moreover, Bugatti became the first series manufacturer to use this exquisite material. But Bugatti isn’t in it alone; the world’s first: 3-D printed titanium brake caliper is the result of a collaboration between Bugatti Development Department and Laser Zentrum Nord in Hamburg.
Now that Bugatti achieved a 3-D printed titanium brake caliper, it will continue to build on this technology and trial 3-D printed components in series production in 2018. Bugatti, being part of VW Group, you can expect this technology to be found in other VW Group’s brands in future.
