For those who are in the market for a pair of affordable true wireless earbuds that isn’t from an obscured brand may want to take a look at the new Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Basic.

Correction. Only look at it if you don’t mind the Apple-inspired ear pod with stem designed (which I freaking head, btw).

While most in-ear TWS offers 10 mm driver, or 12 tops, the Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Basic is outfitted with large 14.2 mm dynamic driver.

It further boasts AAC audio codecs support, auto pair and auto connect, dual mic setup for environmental noise cancelling, smart in-ear detection, touch controls, and 5 hours of battery life per charge, or up to 20 hours when used with the included charging case. It looks like it does not have wireless charging, but it does get USB-C charging.

If I can be honest, the design leaves much to be desire. Not just because I am not a fan of stemmed earphones design. I mean, at least Apple AirPods have a design that flows. The Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Basic looks like an earbud glued to a stick, giving it a disjointed look.

Then again, with a starting price of just €39.99 (or around US$47), one really can’t ask for much, can we? Also, as noted from the product name, there should be a Pro model coming our way.
