In addition to the G1 Arcee 10th scale statue inspired by The Transformers: The Movie from 1986, XM Studios has also revealed another popular G1 character among fans and he is none other than Grimlock. Nah. Just kidding. It is not but we sure wish for one! Anyhoo, along with Arcee is this equally impressive action statue of Prowl.
Meticulously crafted from the ground up by XM Studios, this collectible pays homage to the beloved G1 era of Transformers. With a focus on nostalgia, it’s expertly handcrafted in polystone and painted with the pop culture icon statue maker’s signature quality. Prowl, the Autobot military strategist and Optimus Prime’s trusted second-in-command, is armed with shoulder cannons and powerful firearms. He’s versatile in both planning and executing battles, but his no-nonsense attitude sometimes clashes with fellow Autobots, like Grimlock.
It may be a statue but you’d be able to display Prowl with different looks. Collectors can enjoy multiple arm switch-out options and even display an alternate mode alongside Prowl. Or you could go Riot Gear mode with the included face shield, baton, and riot shield. Like Arcee, dear old Prowl brought to life by XM Studios further touts light-up eyes, and comes with a companion sculpture of Prowl’s alternate mode which is a Datsun 280ZX Turbo sports coupe.
A statue like this is a work of art and is priced at such too. Advance Pre-Order Price (5 October – 8 November) for the figure is S$1,599 (around US$1,163) while Regular Pre-Order Price (9 November, 12pm (SGT) onwards) is S$1,799 (about US$1,309).
But getting it is not just about money; it is the quantity too. The XM Studios Prowl 10th Scale Statue has an edition number of just 149. And then there’s the space. At the rate XM Studios is turning up the delightful collectible statues, you’d not need a fat wallet but you gonna need a bigger house. This statue measures 74 x 36 x 55 cm (29 x 14 x 22 inches) and tips the scales at 13 kilograms (about 29 lbs).
