Calling out to all motorcycle enthusiasts in Europe. If you own a Yamaha YZF-R1M, Yamaha is inviting you to attend this year’s Yamaha Racing Experience at the Silverstone Circuit in UK on May 13 and 14, 2019 – FREE OF CHARGE. Well, at least the booking for a place is free. You will obviously need to provide your own 2019 Yamaha YZF-R1M which, btw, costs £20,199 including VAT (which works out to be around US$26,000-ish).
The goal of Yamaha Racing Experience is to help every rider to develop and enhance their track riding potential through a unique track-based event tailor-made for a wide range of riders with different levels of skill and experience (and in the process, sell more YZF-R1M, of course).
Here’s a little piece of info on the Yamaha YZF-R1M to bring you up to speed:
“The YZF-R1M is a limited edition race and track bike that is equipped with the most advanced electronic control technologies ever seen on a production Yamaha and only available via online application. With its 200PS crossplane engine, compact aluminum/magnesium chassis and lightweight carbon body, the YZF-R1M fuses YZR-M1 MotoGP technology with R-series DNA. For reduced lap times there’s a Quickshift System (QSS) giving seamless upshifting and downshifting. The Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS) automatically adjusts damping to give higher levels of braking, acceleration and cornering control – and the interface makes selecting modes easier. The ECU works with the QSS and lift control system (LIF) to allow harder acceleration – and the fairing’s graphics focus on its lightweight carbon structure.”
If you haven’t already own the required ride, you may register for the it at the respective countries’ Yamaha Motor website. And here’s the what’s going to happen at the 2-day event:
“The first day includes dedicated workshops run by Yamaha Racing experts who will explain the ‘dark arts’ of Yamaha Ride Control, Electronic Racing Suspension and more, allowing every participant to make the most of their R-series. Then the second day every rider will be able to learn from Yamaha Racing stars and dedicated professionals during on-track riding sessions that will enable everyone to make the most of their YZF-R1M.”
If you own a pre-2019 Yamaha YZF-R1M, you are invited attend the Yamaha Racing Experience, but you will need to pay a fee. Though Yamaha Motor did detail how much is the fee. Meanwhile, here’s a video to get fans all pumped.
