Unless you convert your game console into a laptop like what Ed Zarick has done, you are pretty much relegated to playing on a big screen HDTV. However, if for some reasons you don’t have the luxury of a big-ass HDTV, then game peripherals and accessories maker GAEMS have the M155 15.5″ Monitor to fill in the shoe. It won’t turn your gaming box into a laptop, but it will let you play anywhere indoor where there is a wall outlet available. The M155 offers a decent 15.5″ LED backlit display with 720p resolution and is powered by two USB ports with the included cable. It does come with an adapter for plugging into an outlet if you so choose to.
From the product image, it may look like a tablet, but of course, it is not. It does, however, boast an extremely light weight, tipping the scale at just a pound, or about 450g which makes it less of a chore to lug around. For a 15-inch class display, that kind of weight amounts to almost nothing. On paper, it sounds like a pretty well-rounded peripheral, but not without its caveat: It does not have built-in speaker. Instead, it offers a 3.5mm stereo jack for hooking up to your headphones.
With regards to the audio cans, the website says it will work with ‘compatible headphones’ which we have absolutely no idea what it means. I mean, a headphone is well, just a listening device and so, shouldn’t all headphones will work? The only question is whether it will be able to pump the sound to the immersive level of your expectation. Anyways, a few other details include 60 Hz refresh rate display, HDMI input (obviously), and last but not the least, an integrated protective cover with micro felt-lined interior that doubles as a stand. Another attractive proposition is the price: it cost just $169.99, or $229.99 if you fancy it with a console backpack.
