LEGO has officially listed a beautiful Technic recreation of the Emirates Team New Zealand AC75 Yacht revealed in April. Not going to lie, when I first laid eyes on the LEGO Technic Emirates Team New Zealand AC75 Yacht (42174), I genuinely thought it was a model or model kit. It was that impressive. Granted, what I saw were product images.
It is definitely more cohesive than many 1:8 sports car kits if you know what I am saying. Anyhoo… the LEGO Technic Emirates Team New Zealand AC75 Yacht (42174) boasts an authentic sailing yacht design including, wait for it… 2 printed skin sails, along with mainsheet controls, jib sheets, foil wings, foil wings, and a rotating mast complete with rigging.
The kit further touts a pneumatic function in which you can use the cranks to pump up the hydrofoil cant arms just like the real deal! The model is complete with a Technic display stand. Very impressive build but it looks like it is going to have a lot of decals which I am not a huge fan of.
It is safe to assume decals since the product page did not highlight printed parts except for the skin sails. Anyhoo, when completed, the 962-piece made-for-adult fans of LEGO set measures over 68 cm high, 56 cm long, and 33 cm wide (27 by 22 by 12.5 inches).
