This is going to make fans of Disney Princesses outside of China green with envy. Xiaomi has just revealed a limited edition of the Civi 4 Pro featuring Disney Princesses. Celebrating the 1st anniversary of the collaboration between Xiaomi and Disney, Xiao has announced the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro Disney Princess Limited Edition [CH].
The princess chosen to grace this commemorative phone is none other than the very first Disney Princess, Snow White. While it is dubbed the Disney Princess edition, Snow White is not the star; it is the Evil Queen. You will not find hints of the fairy tale princess on the outside of the device.
Like the Redmi Turbo Harry Potter Edition, Xiaomi has taken an illustrative approach to the back cover’s design. The device is presented with a black frame with a matte purple finish that features a, believe it or not, an actual mirror. The oval-shaped mirror is seamlessly integrated with the rest of the back with no bump.
It is so seamless that it feels almost like a mirror decal except that it is as clear as a real mirror should be. Decorating the mirror is a decorative border, along with a dagger through a deep purple heart, and the words “Mirror Mirror”. This mirror decoration appears to be 3D but is it not; it looks like it is created using the same “platinum” 3D technique found on the Redmi Turbo 3 Harry Potter Edition.
Also on the back are Disney and Xiaomi’s branding, plus two subtle hints of the evil Queen: a line art of the crown and a silhouette of the Queen. Rounding up the exterior design is a camera module featuring the Clous de Paris, a guilloché pattern formed from a series of small pyramid-like squares, which is found on the flagship Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
Snow White is only present on the inside as a UI. And it is not alone. There is a light and dark version of the theme that the device automatically switches between depending on the time of the day.
The light theme is colorful and bright and features a beautiful cartoon Snow White lock screen while the dark theme is dark (and purple) with the cartoon Evil Queen’s image on the lock screen.
The Snow White theme extends to the WiFi logo and the battery on the status bar. The WiFi has a heart embedded in it while the battery status bar is an apple, instead of a regular battery icon. Now that, my friends, is attention to detail.
The UI does not end there; it also has an animated device power-up graphic featuring the “process of concocting a poison apple” in which a regular slowly transitioned into a deathly skull green apple. This “deathly skull green apple” also appears when the device is being charged, with dripping green stuff and green bubbles:
Finally, the fingerprint sensor is treated with a magic potion cauldron animated image featuring a cauldron on a fire pit and bubbling green stuff.
Unfortunately, the Snow White/Evil Queen aesthetic does not extend to the charger and the cable. It does however get a stabbed heart SIM card ejector pin and a “poison apple” magnetic PopSocket-style stand.
You also get an illustration card introducing you to the Snow White fairy tale, a sticker sheet, and a case that mirrors the phone back’s design but this time, there is no reflective mirror; it has a matte mirror with Snow White silhouette on it.
Beyond the exciting Snow White theme, the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro Disney Princess Limited Edition is pretty much the same Civi 4 Pro. This means specs like Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Mobile Platform, a 1.5K display with subtle curved edges, a 50 Mp camera system co-engineered with Leica, and more.
The Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro Disney Princess Limited Edition is only in the Chinese market for 3,299 yuan [CH] which works to be around US$454 based on the current going rate.
