Never mind if you failed to pick up the 1991 Benetton B191 Formula 1 race car once driven by Michael Schumacher. It is not a loss because the Benetton F1 ride isn’t what Schumacher is synonymous with; it is the iconic red Ferrari open-wheel race car that is.
Speaking of which, the 2000 Ferrari F1-2000 Formula 1 Car is going under the hammer. This ride is even more significant because it was campaigned by Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher in his first Ferrari World Championship-winning season and Ferrari’s 2000 Formula One Drivers’ World Championship.
This is a true champion’s car having secured victory at the Brazilian Grand Prix driven by Michael Schumacher and then driven by the man to pole position at the Monaco Grand Prix. The car also saw pole position and 5th overall at the Spanish Grand Prix.
And the chassis was deemed a critical contributor to Ferrari’s first Formula 1 Drivers’ World Championship in 21 years and the start of Ferrari’s dynasty run of five consecutive Driver’s World Championships from 2000 to 2004.
The 2000 Ferrari F1-2000 Formula 1 Car (Lot 101) is currently on the block in a sale in Hong Kong. It is expected to fetch between US$7.5 and US$9.5 million.
You can learn more about this legendary race car over at RM Sotheby’s where you can also bid on it. The sale, which runs from April 3-12, 2023, will close in about 3 days’ time.
