Possibly not wanting to be outdone by Toyota’s electrified AE86, fellow Japanese automaker Nissan has also revealed it is working to convert the legendary Nissan R32 Skyline GT-R into an EV prototype. There is no info regarding this conversion and rightly so since I believe it is still a work in progress.
I am a big fan of the R32 since I first saw it in one of Jackie Chan’s movies (Thunderbolt, 1995, Golden Harvest). And being a fan, I sure have mixed feelings about this conversion. On one hand, we are excited we are going to see a green R32 in the exact same body we know and love, and the power it is going to get but on the other hand, we felt like the R32 will be losing its soul that makes it a Godzilla: inline straight six, RB26DETT.
It is still an exciting prospect nonetheless and we cannot wait to see the technical details.
