Lotus haven’t really been building a lot of roadsters, but the 2013 Lotus Exige S Roadster you see here is officially the fastest convertible the British marque has ever made. it is essentially the Exige S, but loses a roof, rear wing and front splitter and as a result, is a tad lighter than the coupe, weighing in at 1,166 kilograms (2,570 pounds). the Exige S Roadster shares the same mid-mounted supercharged 3.5-liter V6 unit as the coupe variant, which has 345 horses (257 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque on tap, and is fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox (from what we understand, paddle shift option will be not be available). the slight shed of fats didn’t quite make the Roadster faster. in fact, on paper, it makes the century sprint in 4 seconds (0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds), which matches the coupe’s performance, while its top speed maxes out at 233 km/h (145 mph).

other features include a Bilstein/Eibach suspension setup, AP-Racing brakes, lightweight cast alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires (17″ front and 18″ rear), and a leather-wrapped interior decorated by aluminum bits. the 2013 Lotus Exige S Roadster is now available to order in selected markets and cost £52,900, €55,378, or 8,500,000 Yen. no US pricing, which means it is not heading to Stateside and as for the rest of the world, it is best to see your local dealers for details.
