if your idea of a track car is not spending 90 percent of your waking hours in a car tuning shop, then you will need a track-ready car right out of the factory. in that way, you can actually have real fun time on the track as oppose to spending precious moments letting your mechanic muck around with your ride. as such, we thought the 2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT might just be the right car for the job. conjured up by Jaguar’s very own ETO division, the 2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT is basically a tricked out, track-ready (and yet still totally road-worthy) version of the XK coupe. although it is fitted with the same 542 hp (405kW) 5.0-liter V8 supercharged unit as the XKR-S, the GT model is a few tads faster – making zero to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds, but the real kicker here is, it still maintains the same fuel efficiency as the XKR. of course, other tweaks are in place to give you the edge on the track. immediately noticeable is the bespoke aerodynamic package that comprises of a carbon fiber front splitter, dive planes, extended wheel arch spats, a massive rear wing, rear diffuser and an aluminum valance – giving the XKR-S GT an incredible maximum downforce of 145kg. along with that, expects this road-legal track car to sport features such as a six-speed gearbox, active electronic differential, a carbon ceramic brake system (six-pod front and four-pod rear), newly developed suspension, height adjustable and bespoke adaptive dampers, and huge 20″ forged lightweight alloy wheels, wrapped in Pirelli Corsa 255/35 front and 305/30 rear. initial production of this track-ready sports coupe is limited to just 30 examples, each carrying a price tag starting from $174,000. arriving this summer. in the mean time, may we invite you to catch a small image gallery, along with a promo video of this beauty below.
