you don’t need two different vehicles to conquer both the urban jungle and the beaten tracks in the rural areas. just put your greens down for the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and you are all set. powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 petrol unit with Fuel Saver Technology, the 2014 model makes 470 horses (351 kW) with 630 Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque, and mated to an all-new 8HP70 eight-speed automatic transmission that offers on-the-fly shift-map changing and manual shifting via its steering wheel paddle controls. form-wise, the outside of the new 2014 model sports an even more aggressive (we would say ferocious anytime. just look at that beast!), a new signature LED character lamp surrounding the bi-xenon headlamps, a brawnier grille, a new one-touch tailgate and a new rear spoiler. moving to the inside, the driver will benefit from the new 8.4-inch touchscreen panel that displays “a wealth of SRT-exclusive Performance Pages data” and a new launch control button for times when you need more consistent straight-line acceleration. also in the interior, you will find a redesigned SRT-exclusive three-spoke, heated steering wheel with ergonomic paddle shifters and of course, connectivity controls, real carbon fiber accents, plus a 825-watt, 19-speaker premium SRT performance audio surround sound system by Harman Kardon. other features and improvements include 44 percent more towing capacity (up to 7,200 pounds or 3.3 tons), improved and retuned Selec-Track system for a more torquey rear wheels when in Track Mode, Brembo six-pod (front) and four-pod (rear) calipers with vented rotors, a 7-inch programmable multi-view gauge cluster and state-of-the-art safety features such as Forward Collision Warning and Rear Cross Path detection to keep you and everyone else safe while on the road. availability and pricing are yet-to-be-announced but in the meantime, do check out a few more imageries available after the break.
