Users of iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR take note. If the prospect of not being able to do wireless charging when using a battery case have been stopping you from getting into a power bank-integrate case, Apple just the solution. Launched on January 15 are these Smart Battery Cases designed for Apple’s 2018 iPhone lineup, including the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR.
As with such battery case, each Smart Battery Case is designed to give your device extra battery life and as such, it has a battery that will add a hump to your phone. While we are NOT swoon over by Apple’s new iPhones’ design, we do give the new Apple iPhone Smart Battery Case our nod of approval for the clean, minimalist look.
Each case features a soft microfiber lining that will not harm your device when it is in it, a silicone exterior, and soft elastomer hinge design for easy installation and removal. In addition to wireless charging, you can also choose to charge the Smart Battery Case with USB-PD compatible chargers if you need get it charged quicker.
When your phone is slipped inside the Smart Battery Case, the intelligent battery status is displayed on the iPhone Lock screen, as well as in the Notification Center, so you’d be in the know of how much charge the battery have left. Finally, with the case on, you device will still support Lighting accessories, including the EarPods with Lightning Connector and the Lightning Digital AV adapter.
As to how much more battery life the case can offer depends on the device. In the case of Smart Battery Case for iPhone XS, you get up to 33 hours of talk time while the Smart Battery Case for iPhone XS Max and Smart Battery Case for iPhone XR, you are looking at up to 37 and up to 39 hours of talk time, respectively.
