Pollix Smartwatch Launched

If battery life is what deters you from picking up a smartwatch, here’s a new entrant in the market that may change your mind. Coming from Pollix GmbH is the Pollix Smartwatch which claims to do everything a smartwatch does with over 10 days of battery life.

Unlike most non-Apple smartwatch which takes on a traditional round watch face, Pollix chose go with a rectangular form with a generously chamfered edge bezel (think Fitbit Versa 2, but longer).

Its 46 mm aluminum case is IP68 rated which the company claims it is fit for swimming and tracks swims too. The handsome case is paired to an IPS display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

In addition, it is outfitted with 9-axis accelerometer, as well as optical heart rate sensor. It has a dedicated app that lets you have an overview of your health based on what the smartwatch picks up on your wrist.

It further boosts its own artificial intelligence that will aid you in achieve your fitness goals. Though I have to say the AI thingy is little sketchy.

Other notables include built-in GPS, ECG monitoring, 24/7 heart rate, blood pressure monitoring, 24/7 SPO2 Oxyigen monitoring, automatic exercise recognition, plus the usual like full activity tracking, sleep tracking, meditation, fatigue mounting and interchangeable bands.

Pollix, an Austrian company, is not new, btw. They have been making fitness trackers, portable Bluetooth speakers, in-ear headphones, smart bottles and even bathroom scales.

Anywho, claimed features aside, the biggest draw of Pollix Smartwatch is perhaps the price. Well, at least it is while it is on Kickstarter anyways. Prices on Kickstarter is €99-159 (about US$110-178).
