Good news for smartwatch users who are waiting to experience the power of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 chip. Joining the TicWatch E3 and TicWatch Pro 3 that are powered by Qualcomm’s latest Wear chip is the new Fossil Gen 6 Touchscreen smartwatch.
Actually no. The Gen 6 Touchscreen is a step up from the two TicWatches; it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+ which is supposed to be faster in processing power and charging, and even more power-efficient.
As befitting its status as a fashion brand, the Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch will be offered in different styles and sizes. All told there are 5 models to choose from. Also new to Fossil’s smart timepiece is the SpO2 sensor and upgraded heart rate sensor with “improved signal accuracy.”
If you are looking at Fossil smartwatches, then you are probably expecting the newest Wear OS version. If that’s the case, you may be disappointed to know that the new Fossil Gen 6 Smartwatch will come with Wear OS 2 out-of-the-box. Wear OS 3, which the one you find on Samsung Galaxy Watch4, will only arrive to the Gen 6 timepieces in 2022.
