If you like the look of the Kia K5, then I am sure you are going to dig the Korea automaker’s new K8 aka Cadenza. It is set to replace the K7 and oh man, it is one hell of a looker.
The all-new Kia K8 [KR] will be offered with two 3.5L Smartstream powertrain: a GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) derivative with 300 PS (296 HP) and 359 Nm (265 lb-ft) torque and a LPI (Liquid Propane Injection) with 240 PS (237 HP) and 314 Nm (232 lb-ft) torque.
Also offered is a 2.5L GDI inline-four with MPI dual injection technology that produces 198 PS (195 HP) and 248 Nm (183 lb-ft) and an entry-level powertrain that is a refreshed 1.6L T-GDI engine.
Both the 2.5L and 3.5L motors are mated to an in-house designed and developed 8-speed automatic gearbox.
There will be a performance model, a K8 sports variant powered by the 3.5L GDI paired to an AWD system.
Luxury and comfort are keys in this vehicle. The K8 boasts reduced cabin NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) – thanks to the reinforced sound packaging materials, including a triple sealing solution and new vibration dampers.
MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension further ensures driving comfort. Speaking of comfort, it has an ergonomically-advanced driver seat with no less than seven air pockets which are individually controlled.
The seat, called Ergo Motion Seat, features smart support function that automatically activated when sports mode is engaged or the car exceeds 130 km/h (80 mph). All the seats found in the K8 are eight-way adjustable.
The new 2022 Kia K8 will be available in select global markets next month, starting with the Korean market. Unfortunately, the U.K. and North America markets are not among them.
