The Kia K5 that enamored us so much in 2020 is in its fourth model year. The bold and aggressive styling with a power to match won it the accolade of “Best Car for Teens $25K to $30K”. Before you jump on buying one, you have to know that Kia USA has just announced the 2024 Kia K5.
Actually, it does not matter. The bold styling has been carried over and there’s only one change for the 2024 model and that is the GT-Line FWD trim will not get heated front seats as standard.
As before, it is offered in a 1.6T GDI I-4 with 8 A/T that puts out 180 horses and 195 lb-ft of torque, and a 2.5T GDI I-4 with 8 DCT that packs 290 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque.
It is available in four well-equipped trim levels, namely, LXS, EX, GT-Line, and GT.
It is loaded with features including an 8-inch color touchscreen with an integrated rearview camera, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a suite of safety features as standard including Drive Attention Warning, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Land Following Assist, and Parking Collision Assist (Rear) – just to name a few.
The new 2024 Kia K5 Sports Sedan starts at US$25,390. It is not clear when the dealerships will be offering the 2024 models. But really, it is the same as the 2023’s and so we are not sure if that matters at all.
