2024 Nissan GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition & Skyline Edition

Good news loyal fans of Nissan Skyline GT-R! Nissan is bringing back the Skyline namesake back into the Nissan GT-R! Well, kind of. It is not quite the Godzilla under the Skyline namesake you have known before the now disgraced Carlos Ghosn brutally murdered it. But there would be a Skyline Edition, which is clearly a nostalgia of its beginning. In addition, to the limited-edition 2024 Nissan GT-R Skyline Edition, Nissan has also introduced another limited edition: the 2024 Nissan GT-R T-spec Takumi.

No. The “Takumi” here has no relation with Initial D’s Takumi Fujiwara. Takumi, for the uninitiated, is a Japanese word that means “artisan” or “skilled”, and is often used to refer to handcrafted automobiles. Anyhoo, the T-spec Takumi Edition celebrates the takumi craftsmen who hand-assemble the GT-R’s VR38DETT engine, featuring a red-etched engine badge and a gold VIN plate in the engine bay.

It boasts a Midnight Purple paint job, Mori Green interior, GT-R NISMO carbon-ceramic brakes, gold-painted NISMO RAYS 20-inch wheels, and other NISMO-tuned enhancements. The colors are a nod to the Skyline days.

The Skyline Edition, on the other hand, pays tribute to Japan’s skylines with Bayside Blue paint and a Sora Blue interior, reviving a color last seen on the R34 generation (yes!). It is not clear if there are any performance tweaks or if they are just limited to cosmetics. Details and pricing for these editions will be announced later, with availability at select U.S. Nissan dealers this summer in very limited numbers.
