The 2024 Polestar Design Contest, held in collaboration with Hot Wheels, crowned Shashank Shekhar’s rugged off-roader, the Polestar TRX, as its winner. This bold concept marries Polestar’s minimalist aesthetics with Hot Wheels’ flair for exaggerated proportions. The TRX will hit shelves as a 1:64 die-cast collectible in the summer of 2025, marking Polestar’s debut in the Hot Wheels lineup.

Shekhar, a professional designer from India, was elated to see his design leap from sketch to miniaturized reality. His TRX is a love letter to adventure with sleek surfaces and a playful edge—a perfect homage to both brands’ design philosophies.
The contest also awarded Italy’s Powei Chen as runner-up for his cyberpunk-inspired “Cyber Shaker” and gave a nod to Roman Moor’s classic Le Mans-style “Polestar Track Toy” with an honorable mention.
Over 1,200 participants submitted their visions, with the TRX standing out as a beacon of innovation and creativity. The Polestar-Hot Wheels collaboration challenged entrants to blend playfulness with the Swedish automaker’s clean lines, resulting in a roster of concepts that pushed boundaries.
And now? Shekhar’s TRX is on track to leave its mark, one 1:64-scale adventure at a time.
