2-door automobile with a sedan silhouette used to be synonymous with sports cars. But today, that notion has made way for practicality. Thankfully, for Japanese marque lovers, Japanese automakers have not forgotten this sporty heritage. One of them is Subaru with its BRZ sports coupe.
Speaking of the BRZ, Subaru of America has recently unveiled the 2024 BRZ. The new model of the rear-wheel-drive sports car features a 2.4-liter SUBARU BOXER engine, precise handling, and a new top-of-the-line tS trim. The model is set to be available at Subaru retailers early next year.
All 2024 BRZ models are equipped with a 228-hp 2.4-liter SUBARU BOXER engine, paired with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The BRZ comes in three trims: Premium, Limited, and the new tS. Notably, Subaru’s EyeSight Driver Assist Technology is now standard across all BRZ models, including those with a manual transmission, offering advanced safety features.
The BRZ Premium, starting at $30,195, boasts features such as Keyless Access, LED headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, and Subaru’s TORSEN limited-slip rear differential. The sleek design incorporates aerodynamic details, a narrow greenhouse, and a distinct rear spoiler.
Inside, the driver-focused cockpit features a 7-inch digital instrument panel resembling Subaru’s BOXER engine. The BRZ Premium exclusively offers a six-speed manual transmission, emphasizing an engaging driving experience.
The BRZ Limited, starting at $32,695, adds features like 18-inch alloy wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires, Blind-Spot Detection, and Ultrasuede upholstery with red leather accents. An optional automatic transmission is available for an additional cost.
The highlight of the lineup is the all-new BRZ tS, priced at $35,345. It comes with STI-tuned dampers, a high-performance Brembo braking system, and exclusive exterior and interior enhancements. The BRZ tS is based on the Limited trim but includes additional performance features for greater control and stability.
In summary, the 2024 Subaru BRZ offers a range of trims with enhanced safety features, distinctive designs, and a focus on delivering an engaging driving experience. The introduction of the tS trim brings additional performance-oriented features to the lineup.
The 2024 Subaru BRZ Sports Car has not been listed on Subaru of America yet. However, it is available to order in its home country, Japan, starting from 3,300,000 yen [JP] (or around US$22,258).
